Sing Your Blues

'A Tale of Inner Peace'

I saw a lonesome soldier,
Hangin' around the lakes,
The leaves didn't blow very strongly,
And his tears were old for his age,
But he was a child he told me,
He said his life was dead,
I saw a lonesome soldier,
Digging a grave with guitars.

I said turn away from the rain poor boy,
Just turn, turn, turn away,
Let the music take you away poor boy,
And sing your blues.

He sharpened his knife,
And he let out a cry,
I don't want to see tomorrow,
I have no friends who know I cry,
Who know I'm drowning in sorrow,
As the roses fade into the lake,
He says it's been a while,
He sharpened his knife,
And he let out a cry,
Oh why'd he have to die?

I said turn away from the rain poor boy,
Just turn, turn, turn away,
Let the music take you away poor boy,
And sing your blues.

He looked in my eyes,
And he said oh why,
Do I feel on my own?
And why the girl who breathed so sweet,
Has broken all my dreams?
I didn't mean for him to die,
I didn't mean this life,
He looked in my eyes,
And he said oh why,
The rain has turned on me?

I said turn away from the rain poor boy,
Just turn, turn, turn away,
Let the music take you away poor boy,
And sing your blues.
