KEEP FLYING WITH THE MUSIC

'A Tale of  Loss'

Early one morning with the moon and the stars,
A boy was playing with his dad's guitar.
He said to his dad do you want to hear me play?
He listened to the wind and turned away.

He sang to the storm as a robin flew near,
It whistled for a while then disappeared.
The sky shed a tear as he sung his song loud,
He only wanted one man in the crowd.

He sang,
Shine the brightest,
Like the Summer sun,
Keep flying with the music,
John.

He felt all alone as his hero lay still,
He pondered how the rain could be so cruel.
He looked through the mist as he searched for advice,
He wasn't sure if boys were meant to cry.

He dreamt of his words when he hugged him so young,
Be strong for mum my brave son.
You'll make some mistakes and you'll drink too much,
But study for exams and fall in love.

And you'll,
Shine the brightest,
Like the Summer sun,
Keep flying with your music,
Son.

The years that followed his dad was right,
He made some mistakes and had some fights.
He fell in love and he walked down the aisle,
He got a degree and saw his smile.

The rain fell hard and the wind blew strong,
The storm grew large the sun had gone.
He cried at his dad for taking his wings,
We still had dreams and songs to sing.

He sang,
Shine the brightest,
Like the Summer sun,
Keep flying with my music,
John.

Early one morning with the moon and the stars,
A boy was playing with his dad's guitar.
He said to the storm do you want to hear me play?
He listened to his dad and played all day.
