All Alone

'A Tale of Street Performers'

Far between,
The other side,
Of town I saw,
A lonely clown.

He told me life,
Was long and tough,
He told me I,
Should never give up,
He said I'm all alone.

And then I marched,
Down to the side,
Of town I saw,
A jester frown.

He skipped his jokes,
He had a smoke,
He clears his throat,
He starts to choke,
He says I'm all alone.

And as I sing,
Out to the street,
Of town the crowd,
They gather round.

I look for the clown,
But I see none,
I look for the jester,
But he's gone,
Now I sing all alone.
