"Telling his own story, just him and his guitar. Really back to basics, I really like that and it works really well" BBC Introducing

Hi, my name is Jack Kelly and welcome to my artist page.

I'm currently studying a Masters at University of Leeds. I decided to study Writing for Performance and Publication to enhance my networks, and become stronger at Theatre, Prose and Radio writing.

I'm a BBC Introducing supported sixties inspired, acoustic singer-songwriter and you'll be able to join my journey through this website.

I released my debut album in 2017 called The Carnival.

I absolutely love the music from the sixties, and I began writing songs and playing guitar properly when I first heard Bob Dylan's 'The Times They are a-Changin'.

I've been supported by BBC Introducing with several songs played on their show and a live interview.

I was deeply honored in April 2018 when 'Keep Flying with the Music' was selected by Amplified Theatre to be performed as a theatrical production at the Bunker Theatre in London. The play was called 'A Star Named Jim' and it went down an absolute storm. Thanks to Amy Evans for writing the script.

I've also decided to join the blogging world to showcase my love for music, how I got into becoming a musician, and how my journey is planning out, as well as interacting with other musicians, lovers of music, and people considering entering the world I have.

I grew up just north of London before moving to Leeds. I've been greatly influenced by my favourite artists including an obsession with Bob Dylan, as well as influences such as Donovan, The Kinks, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Phil Ochs, Jake Bugg just to name a few.

Thank you for joining my journey.
