Dearest Darling

'A Tale of Sorrow'

To My Dearest Darling,

I'll paint you what I'm seeing,
The clouds are everywhere.

To My Dearest Darling,

The chimes are always ringing,

I'll tell you what I know,

The guns are fighting nothing,
It's Winter all year round,

The wind so cold it's burning,

The circus is in town.

To My Dearest Darling,

I'll tell you something new,

They lied to get me here.

My eyes too weak for staring,

My ears to numb to hear,

My hands are iced but shaking,

All these wasted years.

To My Dearest Darling,

I dreamt that I am dreaming,

I dreamt I'm coming home.

Our lips forever kissing,

There's freedom in the air,

Our feet too quick for dancing,

The flowers everywhere.

To My Dearest Darling,

I'll tell you what I'm thinking,
I' think I've lost my mind.

My hope is getting darker,

My strings too weak to rust,

I thought I held my brother,

He gave me one last hug.

To My Dearest Darling,
I don't know where I am,

My truest love goodbye.
